Founded by Divine Future Johnson, MBCQ aims to promote creativity, individuality, and resilience among undergraduates and recent graduates. The pageant provides a platform for intellectual growth, self-expression, and valuable connections. It is a student-centered pageant initiative, created with a primary goal of encouraging young girls to continue in education, while chasing their career, dreams, and aspirations. Also, for the pageants, weekly humanitarian tasks showcase social consciousness.
The pageant is open to contestants from various schools (students and fresh graduates), and the Top 50 contestants are selected through audition. Furthermore, public voting determines the final 30 contestants. The Pageant week culminates in grand finale.
The Most Beautiful Campus Queen (MBCQ) pageant has many notable achievements. It has produced remarkable individuals, including Ololade Ayelabola, Guinness World Record holder. The MBCQ has also represented Nigeria at the Miss Teen Globe International pageant, Paraguay (2023).
The past winners are Victoria Akingbade (Olabisi Onabanjo University) for 2019/2020, Ololade Ayelabola (University of Lagos) for 2021, Tajeruo Faith (University of Benin) in 2022, and Felicity Akuewanbhor (Ambrose Ali University) / Agbahovbe Orevaoghene (University of Benin) for the year 2023.
