Almost everything in life runs and succeeds on certain principles. Life, marriage, safety, business, just name it. But many failed to uphold those gospel ideologies, especially in business, regardless of whatever model they intended to provide service.
In a world where fear and mistrust grow daily between businesses and end users, Mo Autos, an online car sales company founded by Mike Oludoyi, has not only eliminated barriers in trading, shifting the paradigm in the industry, but redefining how trust between entities is built.
Oludoyi became an entrepreneur 13 years ago but founded Mo.autos in 2016. He encountered and conquered the obstacle of having to vigorously convince would-later-be customers to patronize his company as their car dealer.
It is difficult enough to persuade people to give a new business or an idea completely different from what they are used to a chance. The Mo.autos boss, who is based in the United States of America, revealed, however, that his company’s principles of openness, uprightness, and honesty, having been raised in a Christian home, played a very crucial role in winning over skeptical clients.
He referenced that customers have played a major in the growth of the company, by becoming its mouthpiece and making referrals.
“One of the initial challenges we faced is that some people were reluctant to do business with us because we are an online business, but we’ve proven our integrity and diligence over the years and many of these types of people who were reluctant before, have reached out to us and purchased cars from us and even refer friends and associate’s because of the quality of our service, quality of the cars we deliver and the unbeatable deals and prices our customers get”, said the CEO of Mo Autos.
“My business philosophy is integrity and excellence. My success in business is built mainly on word-of-mouth referrals, we’ve done business with some very respected and private people that don’t even allow us to post about their purchases, but they always actively refer more clients to us.
“All our previous clients are always satisfied with the quality of cars we deliver and always refer friends and associates to us. The secret is I’m always truthful with my clients, I deliver quality cars and excellent customer service all through the purchase process and even after we deliver to the clients”, he added.
The Mo Autos CEO who hails from Mopa in Kogi State attended St. Peter Nursery & Primary School in his hometown. He obtained his WASSCE at Harmony Secondary School, Lokoja, and later proceeded to Salem University in the state capital for his degree.
The founder of Mo Autos, a US citizen, explained that he became an online car dealer in the US where he is licensed to operate “Mo Autos LLC” in Texas and Maryland, to make the purchase of cars from the North American country easy for Nigerians, taking advantage of technology.
“Mo Autos was founded to bridge the divide and simplify the process of buying cars directly from the USA from any part of Nigeria. It started with me trying to sell my older car when I got a new one and I was able to sell it within 24 hours for a profit. That encouraged me to do it more.
“The world is going digital, so we are exploring different possibilities on how to further digitize the car purchase process, to make it even better for our customers”, he emphasized.
Mike Oludoyi stressed the importance of education, saying it is an important factor in his achievements in business.
“Education is very key, and I owe a lot of my achievements to the level of education and exposure that I got. In school, I learned a lot about life in general, including how to manage business and finances. And many of these lessons are what I apply to my day-to-day activities as a businessman,” stated the CEO of Mo Autos.
