Music and Moments: Best show on Nigerian radio?

That’s usually the opening line of Chukwuebuka, a regular caller on Music and Moments, the hit radio show on Nigeria Info 99.3 FM. As expected, the show’s format has continued to attract more listeners every week.

Produced and presented by Sam Umukoro and Ifeanyi Akogo, Music and Moments is a call-in radio programme driven by music and memories of the listeners. During the show, songs are played and the presenters will open the phone lines for listeners’ to call in and tell what memories the songs evoke. The Programme airs Saturdays, 11am – 12 noon, and Friday 6:15pm – 6:50m.

No doubt, songs from the past can stir powerful emotions and transport one back in time. It is an experience shared by everyone; once you listen to a song from the past, you are transported back to that particular moment, like stepping into a time machine. You feel everything as if you were actually there.

However, one complain from some listeners is the time of the show. They believe the time is too short and the station should increase it or give the show more than two days in a week; a request that lends credence to the success of the show.
