Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola about a week ago official left as the Head of Service, Lagos State. This is after serving in that capacity for about five years. But as he leaves the service of Lagos State government to be with President Bola Tinubu as one of his personal aides, Muri-Okunola handed over to the most senior permanent secretary within the body of permanent secretaries in the state, who coincidentally is his childhood friend, Bode Agoro.

This is however not the first time they would be changing baton. When Muri-Okunola was moved to the Ministry of Youth and Social development as permanent secretary, Bode Agoro took over as Permanent secretay of Lands Bureau.

So, both have celebrated milestones together. They have a long history of family relationship, as their fathers were not just professional colleagues, but also close pals. It was, therefore, not surprising to many that their sons became friends too and followed the path of their fathers’ profession, law.

The two friends, Hakeem Muri-Okunola and Bode Agoro have had many things in common. Aside they both study law; they graduated from the same university, Lagos State University for their first degrees. Also, they started their civil service career in the Land Bureau. They rose to be Permanent Secretary of Lands Bureau at one point in their career before being elevated to being Head of Service in Lagos State.
