The Public Relations Women Foundation (PRWF) has announced its global launch and commencement of operations. The foundation, a global social impact enterprise focused on strengthening leadership, talent, and advancing the economic relevance of the public relations profession, unveiled its new structure in a statement recently published.
Under its new structure, the Public Relations Women Foundation is positioned to enable inclusive global engagement while centring emerging markets. This recognises distinctive communications practices developed within these economies and their growing influence on global business, governance, and public trust.
The unveiling of the PRWF marks a strategic shift from its erstwhile nationally focused initiative, Nigerian Women in PR, to a globally oriented foundation, reflecting the organisation’s expanding international participation, cross-border partnerships, and long-term vision to strengthen talent and leadership representation from the global south.
The Foundation, designed for long-term professional contribution and institutional impact across sectors globally, now operates under three interconnected pillars: Community – Premium Members’ Club; Talent – TalentIntel, and Training & Convenings.
Commenting on the launch, Tolulope Olorundero, global public relations consultant and Founder& Chairperson, Public Relations Women Foundation, stated that: “What began as a vision to advocate for PR women of Nigerian descent with significant success and impact has now expanded. Through a series of high-level consultations, need assessments, and analysis of the challenges across practice in emerging markets, we realised that the problem we set out to solve in Nigeria is identical across the global south.
“As in the economy, it is impractical to wait for external intervention to solve a problem only we can understand. So the Foundation, from today, sets out to advocate for the adoption and increased value of public relations across all levels of society, and advocating for inclusive leadership within the profession.”
Since inception in 2019, the Public Relations Foundation, through its premier country Hub Nigerian Women in PR, has delivered measurable impact across regions with over 12,000 women in public relations reached globally and 3,000 students trained through structured learning initiatives.
