Season of Lights

What is a Christmas tree or the entire decoration ambience without lighting? Some would say bareness while others would call it lifeless. And since Christ who is the reason for the season is the light of the world, there is no life in any decoration or celebration of Christmas without lighting.

Looking at the background of Christmas lighting before the invention of LED lighting, trees were decorated with candles to symbolise Christ being the light of the world, which reminds Christians to be a shining light to others.

More importantly, the lighting and the aesthetics that come with it naturally trigger ‘dopamine’, a chemical that makes the brain feel good. Also, the lighting helps the physiological response from the human nervous system alert with presence of mind whilst creating feelings of happiness.

So, in Christmas decorations, lighting tops the list, and this fact comes into play when some people only do decorations with Christmas lights whether in their interior or in exterior. As a matter of fact, some design experts build Christmas trees with only LED lighting.
