Condolences and tributes have continued to pour in for actor and reality television star, Patrick Fakoya aka Rico Swavey, who died after a ghastly motor accident. The 29-year old Tinsel actor was involved in a ghastly motor accident and was hospitalised on October 11. He was reportedly placed on life support after his management revealed that the Big Brother Nigeria (BBN) reality show star was in critical condition.

News of Rico’s demise broke on October 13 and since then, tributes have been pouring in for law graduate of Babcock University from his fans and colleagues both old and young.

Fellow Reality show star, Alex Unusual, who broke the news in a twitter post, wrote: “This was not what we agreed Rico. Rest in Peace.”

Leading stage and screen actor, Yemi Solade, described the late actor and reality show star as a creative soul that left the scene too soon. He shared his tribute on his Instagram handle: “Gone too soon. One of my onscreen sons Rico Swavey. May God Accept your creative soul. Rest in eternal bliss.”

Born to a Nigerian dad and an Italian mum, Rico who is best known for his role in the drama series titled Life 101, released an afro-hip song Afrosantana in 2020 and followed it up with another song titled Emotions, also in 2020. Described by close friends and colleagues as warm and unpretentiously friendly, Rico shot to limelight after he participated in the third diet of the BBN reality show in 2018.

In a short tribute shared on his social media handles, BBN host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu described Rico as the “warmest human being.”

Obi-Uchendu wrote: “The actual warmest human being. This is truly heartbreaking. …Rest in Peace Rico.”
