Acclained singer and songwriter, Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems, has debunked the rumours making the rounds that she is pregnant for American rapper and singer, Nayvadius DeMun Cash, known professionally as Future.

The Grammy Award winner made the clarification during a chat with American podcaster, Angela Martinez of Power 105.1 FM, New York, on a radio show, where she was asked series of questions including speculated pregnancy, jail term in Uganda, among others

Recall that in September, Tems who received an Oscar nomination, sparked pregnancy rumour online following a video showing her supposedly protruding belly, while making appearance at Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 London Fashion Week presentation.

Speaking about the speculated pregnancy during the podcast, the Me & U singer said the speculation was a misconception from her outfit, stressing that she had tucked her blouse into her pants, which accentuated her slightly protruding belly.

She stated that the pregnancy rumours circulated just two days after her appearance at the fashion week presentation, when her immediate family members, including her mother, began probing for information.

Recounting her ordeal in Uganda prison, Tems claimed “the whole thing was a setup,” and humorously remarked that she was as perplexed as a cat in a dog show.

Tems and Omah Lay were arrested and brought before a Ugandan court and subsequently detained in a prison for making an appearance at a concert held in the country at Speke Resort, Kampala, on Saturday, December 12, 2020 despite COVID-19 social distancing regulations.
