To celebrate Nigeria’s rich history, whilst showcasing Lagos as a Centre of Excellence and the entertainment capital of Africa, Balmoral Group and Temple Management has unveiled a first of its kind three-day festival tagged Lagos Independence Festival of Excellence (LIFE).

LIFE is a yearly celebration of diversity, unity, culture and independence that is designed to immerse Nigerians in a universe of amusement, education, entertainment and appreciation of heritage.

The festival, which is billed to commence next year from October 1-3, 2022, at the Federal Palace Hotel, a symbolic edifice for the signing of Nigeria’s Declaration of Independence in 1960, would be sectioned into Daytime and Nighttime Series caters to the unique needs of both children and adults.

The Daytime series will feature Kids Wonderland, an interactive city that allows children develop all the necessary skills to grow through life. There will also be the Naija Flavour section that would explore the best of Nigerian cuisine and culture, etc. On the other hand, the Nighttime series would cater to movie premieres, music concerts by Music legends, all-white parties, comedy nights, others.

CEO of Balmoral Group, Ezekiel Adamu, noted that the festival is designed to be one of a kind in order to eradicate the lack-lustre and indifference that has always greeted the October 1st Independence Day celebration in Nigeria.

“We felt that the narrative of celebrating independence in Nigeria is changing and we needed to do something about it. More often than not, Independence Day is when Nigerians just stay home and listen to the President’s speech in the morning. This is why we thought to create an event that is educational for the children and entertaining for the adults. We intended to start this year, but we concluded that a nationwide event of this sort needs proper planning. So, we pushed it to next year and announced our plans a year prior in order to put together a befitting event that is here to stay.”

In her remark, Head of Strategy, Temple Management Winifred Okpapi, said: “The LIFE experience is purpose built for an unparalleled Independence celebration in Nigeria.”
