The enlarged body of Enugu state indigenes resident in Anambra state yesterday in Awka endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)governorship bid of Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi during an interactive session with journalists.
The chairman of the group, Chief Dennis Anukwu said that the decision to endorse Ugwuanyi(Gburu Gburu) for the April 11, 2015 governorship polls has become imperative because of their firm belief that he would give quality leadership and governance to the good people of Enugu state when he makes it to the Lion House.

Anukwu who hails from Amuri, Awgu local government area of Enugu state said that their optimism was hinged on the impeccable track record of the governorship candidate in the House of Representatives where he has given a strong voice and representation to his constituency in the National Assembly.

“It is on record that Ugwuanyi has set an unprecedented record when it comes to effective voice of representation in the National Assembly. He is a strong voice and very active in the lower chamber than most of his contemporaries in our area…”, the community leader noted.

Anukwu said it was cheering that Ugwuanyi shone brightly in the House of Reps when other National Assembly members from the state apparently got lost in the crowd of other lawmakers from other states and region who were going out without moving a single motion to justify their continued stay in Abuja.

Anukwu said further that the lawmaker from Nsukka zone apart from giving quality representation to his constituency and the entire state also spiced it up democratic dividends for his people who had never had it so good.

He enthused that his people in Anambra have already mobilized massively the people at home to ensure that the dream of having a performer taking over rein of governance in Enugu state becomes a reality.

He said that since Ugwuanyi has proved to be faithful in the responsibility of representing his people in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, it was time to trust him with bigger responsibility of managing the affairs of the state as the governor.

Anukwu however warned trouble makers especially those in the fold of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against rocking the boat, noting that such move would be counter productive for the entire citizens.

A woman leader, Mrs Thelma Okechukwu collaborated the claims of Anukwu noting that the womenfolk in Enugu state are solidly behind Ugwuanyi who she noted has made them proud with his wonderful empowerment packages for women and youths in the coal city state. She described him as a personable character who was chosen by God Almighty to redirect the state on the part of growth and development.
