Afrobeat Duo Tribeqa Unveil See Me Now

EMERGING alternative Afrobeats duo Tribeqa, made up of Akin Ojo (Triq) and Alexander Fasina (Traqz), have released their video of their debut single titled See Me Now.

The new hit is produced by P2J, who had worked with some established acts like Lola Rae, Iyanya, Davido, and TrimzBeatz; See Me Now is an exciting record, which sees Tribeqa showcasing their innovative and forward-thinking Afrobeats sounds, with a captivating flow and infectious delivery.

With most Nigerian and Afrobeats artistes all sounding the same these days, the Tribeqa are developing a unique new school Afrobeats sound, which sets them apart from others in that genre of music.

Drawing from their strong Nigerian culture and artistic authenticity, the Tribeqa sound also takes inspiration from jazz, soul, hip-hop, indie and pop music, no doubt, the Tribeqa will become one of the defining sounds of Afrobeats this year.

The visuals for the song, which were shot on location in Brighton beach, and directed by SammyShoots, take on a very chill, carefree and effortless approach to great effect, mirroring the relaxed and playful vibe of the record itself.

With its lush talking drums, synth-heavy keyboard arrangements, African house music sensibilities, thumping bass line and unforgettable melodies, See Me Now is simply irresistible and its visuals bring the record even further to life.

Representing their #2047 collective which the duo established last year, Tribeqa have a very exciting and breakthrough 2015 planned, with the follow up release to See Me Now already ready to go.

Featuring Stunnah Gee, who recently released a massive collaboration with Davido, Tribeqa’s upcoming single Su Mo Mi is due to be released next month.
