As the Artiste Managers Association of Nigeria (AMAN) prepares to celebrate 30 years of dedication to the Nigerian entertainment industry, President of the Association, Mr Collins Ifeanyi Onwuneme Ajereh Enebeli, also known as Mavin Grandpa Worldwide (MGW), has reiterated the many contributions and achievements of the body to the progress of the nation’s entertainment industry, noting that members have gained much respect in past few years.
Speaking at a media parley during the week to herald AMAN @ 30 anniversary and awards schedule to hold on November 26 at the Grand Ballroom of Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Enebeli stressed the role AMAN has played in the Nigerian entertainment scene three decades after it came to existence, bridging the gap between entertainment stars and those who work behind the scenes to project emerging talents.
He stated that AMAN has been instrumental in shaping the careers of numerous artiste managers and creatives in Nigeria, stressing that the organisation provides a platform for networking, collaboration, and skill development, which has contributed significantly to the growth of the entertainment industry.
“In 30 years, AMAN aside galvanising all artiste managers across Nigeria together, has also given them the opportunity of sharing ideas and keeping the relationship between artistes and their managers intact.
“AMAN has been at the forefront ensuring that it connects emerging talents with successful artistes, ensuring a healthy relationship between artistes and their wards because only when two work together that there is progress,” Ajereh Enebeli said.
The Mavin grandpa noted that the many initiatives of AMAN like industry networking tours of different organisations and meeting with successful individuals and icons in the industry has helped expose members to the creative industries first hand.
“The exposure provided to registered members gives them beneficial insights into the inner workings of the creative industry. Part of AMAN’s objectives was to set up a reward system through which talents are publicly recognised and rewarded for excellence. The award is designed to recognise, appreciate, and reward hard work and excellence within the creative industries in Nigeria, Africa and beyond.
“We did this successfully in 2023 when the maiden edition of the AMAN awards was held. This year, we are taking the awards higher by recognising more people who have helped to shape the creative industries in Nigeria and beyond, above and over the past three decades,” the entertainment aficionado added.
