The mother of four, who recently released a new single, titled, Amara Chukwu, in appreciation of God’s gift of life to her on the occasion of her 50th birthday, notes that the only gift mankind can give to God is praise and worship.
She said, “You can only get more if you engage in worship and praise. Amara Chukwu is my appreciation offering to God for his of life to me. It was for my 50th birthday celebration. I was thinking about my journey in life for ‘50 good years’ and how God has helped me to navigate this far, and I discovered that I made it this far only by God’s grace. So I named the single Amara Chukwu, meaning God’s grace.”
Known for her dynamic praise and worship style, the gospel singer, who often ministers at Christian events and church gatherings, stated that her messages through the song are that: “God’s grace is always with you, and it changes everything. This grace of God is enough for you because that is what grants you thorough freedom and guarantees peace and joy. Jesus Christ is Grace personified, and with him all things are possible,” she added.
Describing the sound in Amara Chukwu as gospel highlife, the wife of Reverend Elias Uchechi, a senior minister in Christian Pentecostal Mission (CPM) headquarters, stated that the creative process like for the project “was more of spontaneous creativity because I received most parts while in the studio.”
On the expected goal(s) for the song and its impact on the listeners, as well as its contribution to the music scene, the gospel singer who had been in the industry for 25 years, said: “I want it to go worldwide; I want it to go beyond language and race. I hope and pray it affects them positively and builds them up in faith,” she enthused with a mixture of smile and frankness.
Asked about the challenge(s) encountered to make the project a reality, Evangelist Uchechi adds, “God helped me by going ahead of me in the planning. So I didn’t really encounter many difficulties. There was unity and teamwork spirit among the production crew.”
