The song, which is already generating buzz in the music industry with over 10,000 downloads on Spotify, a digital music, podcast, and video service that gives you access to millions of songs and other content from creators all over the world has caught the attention of music lovers and critics alike.

Speaking on the banger, which is getting massive airplay time across Radio and TV stations in Nigeria and Africa, Uyama which means light in Ibibio, said the song is a folk song in his native Efik.

He said, “It’s actually more like a conquest song for the warriors in my place.”
Uyama added, “when I created Mboroko, I made the song a UK drill sound with all the trappings and everything. But I had to go to the root source and get the real local drumming. So, if you listen to Mboroko, you hear elements of local drum. So, I had to go and get the real local drum and stuff for the instrumentals.”

The sought after producer stated that within one week of the song release, it was already trending on TikTok owing to the embedded local sound, and people like what I did with the beats.

“So, the story behind Mboroko is just me telling young Africans and black people all over the world that whatever you’re creating is not new; it comes from the DNA. Growing up, they told us our ancestors were not educated; they were not civilized. But the truth is our ancestors were creators. They were architects; they created sound and melodies, and these melodies have actually metamorphosed into the music of today,” he stated.
