In her quest to further sharpen the skill of her members and get them updated in the evolving industry, the Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN), has concluded plans to organise an end of the year programme tagged ‘EMCOAN Member’s Staff Training’ for its member’s production crew and other relevant departments.

The training is scheduled for two days and would hold on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 18 and 19, from 9am to 5pm daily, at the Inside-Out Studio, in Ilupeju Lagos. The key objective of the training is to help member’s production crew and other relevant staff to get updated with new trends and happenings in the production industry.

Speaking about the training, President of the Association, Mrs. Debbie Odutayo, said that the idea is to be able to further positively impact member’s production staff with increase in productivity and made them better production managers in all areas of production.

“There is a lot to learn and life is about learning and getting better in whatever field one finds his or herself,” she averred. The Chairman of the Programmes Committee, Mr. Paul Igwe, also the executive producer of the famous Clinic’s Matters, a soap series, noted that production management is a key factor in the entire production process and up till today, the challenges are still very obvious in the industry.

“We are equally tackling the issue of editing, audio/sound as key grey areas in post-production on TV and in our films, hence, we want our people to get better and be pacesetter in all ramifications,” he said

Igwe further explained that some months ago, the Association held a business seminar for its members who are chief executive officers (CEOs) of different content and production firms in the country.

“This effort to train production staff our members is in line with the over-all objectives of the Debbie Odutayo led leadership to reposition EMCOAN as a force to be reckon with in the industry,” he added
