Respected for its intricate narratives that explore human emotion such as seen in Breath of Life, With Difficulty Comes Ease, and God Calling, Nemsia Studios has unveiled another inspiring movie, a romantic comedy titled, Soft Love, it is a Nigeria-South Africa love story.
Written and produced by Paballo Molingoane, the film is directed by Holmes Awa. It offers a heartwarming and humorous exploration of love and identity, as it bridges the vibrant cultures of Nigeria and South Africa.
It invites viewers into the world of two characters: Zandi J, a soft love podcast host, who has recently been served a slice of heartbreak and Edward Obi, an ambitious Nigerian photographer who soon becomes the new object of Zandi’s love.
The agreeableness between Zandi and Edward is striking. With Zandi’s witty and supportive friend, she navigates the challenges in her newfound relationship.
Speaking on the movie, Paballo said, “through Soft Love, I hope to connect with viewers on a deeply personal level, inviting them to reflect on the resilience of love, the courage it takes to be vulnerable, and the beauty of embracing who we are in all our complexity.
“We’re incredibly excited to share Soft Love with audiences worldwide. Seeing he film come to life has been an inspiring journey for everyone at Nemsia Studios, and we can’t wait for viewers to experience the story, the laughter, and the depth it brings,” co-founder of Nemsia Studios, Derin Adeyokunnu, said.
As a reminder of the complexities of relationships, Soft Love looks at how love can be a source of joy and pain, how friendships can blossom and wither, and how deceit can lurk in the shadows of even the closest bonds.
The star-studded premiere event, held on October 23rd, was a night to remember. The red carpet was brimming with notable Nollywood actors, directors, and media influencers.
