Raphael Oloidi-Ojumirayo popularly known by his stage name ‘Raphbillz’ would describe himself as Africa’s hardest new-wave artist. Hailing from Ekiti state in the southwestern region in Nigeria, Raphbillz’s passion for music was sparked as a youngster in Nigeria.

Growing up in the early 2000’s, his formative years were characterized by notable names in Afro beats history. In a recent interview, the artist tagged a few of these names as mentors and inspiration. “My early mentors were Ice prince, Burna boy D banj, Olamide and Davido while my biggest role model is Wandecoal” he said.

Raphbillz started pursuing his music career from a very young age and these inspiration impacted his music genre being Afro beat, R&B, Alternative pop, which is unique to the current wave of Afro beat. He began his music career professionally in year 2021 with the release of his first official single “ALIVE” which earned him No. 1 spots on top charts and nominations to great Awards. The project had served as the perfect platter for his fresh fusion of RnB and Afro beat and it was been met with raving reviews.

With a cool number of fans worldwide,
splendid projects and features in the entertainment industry, Raphbill has proven to be very diligent about his music career. This also include his dream to move Afro beat to a whole new creative level for people around the world to understand. “I want my presence and sound bring an aura of dignity to Afro beat culture,” he said.

“My key driving force is believing in my craft. The passion for my craft and love for my brand has motivated me to do great things. These experiences has made me a better person, artist and I look forward to taking Afro beat to a new level around the world.”

Years of practice have sharpened the performer’s musical abilities and he is continually striving to be a better version of himself in order to provide good music always to his devoted audience. Even though he just has a few songs available, it is clear that by the time he releases a full album, all eyes will be on him.
