Nigerian gospel singer, Nich Oma, has released a new worship EP titled “OMERIWO,” a project focused on healing, prayer and personal reflection.
The EP adds to the singer’s growing catalogue of indigenous worship music, combining Igbo expressions with contemporary gospel sounds.
Behind the music is a story marked by struggle and resilience. Born Nicholas Ozioma Miracle in Obollo-Afor, Enugu State, and raised in Nnewi, Anambra State, Nich Oma was brought up in a church-oriented family before losing her father at a young age following a prolonged illness.
The loss plunged the family into hardship, forcing her as a child to assist her mother in selling second-hand clothes while also hawking sachet water and zobo drinks to support the family.
Years later, those experiences continue to shape her worship style and songwriting. According to her, many people silently battle pain, adding that hearing testimonies from listeners who found comfort through her music motivates her ministry.
Before fully committing to music ministry, Nich Oma ventured into several small businesses, including salon services and catering, after undergoing professional training as a chef. She explained that those experiences exposed her to different human struggles and deepened her compassion for others.
Released under Echoes of Rapha record label, OMERIWO follows earlier songs such as Eze Muo (Muo Neri Muo), which attracted attention among lovers of meditative and indigenous worship music.
Beyond music, Nich Oma also organises worship and outreach programmes, including SPIRITUAL SURGERY, an annual evangelical gathering centred on worship, prayer and restoration, as well as Dance and Shake Off Burdens (DASOB), a worship concert designed to encourage people dealing with emotional challenges.
She has also ministered on major gospel platforms alongside established gospel artistes, including appearances at the ATTA Citywide Crusade, Victory At Last in Anambra State and A Night With The King in Owerri.
Despite her growing visibility in the gospel music scene, Nich Oma said her priority remains creating worship that connects emotionally and spiritually with listeners, noting that her greatest comes from seeing people leave worship strengthened and encouraged.
