Enugu-born rapper, Ani Jeremiah Chukwuebuka, professionally known as JeriQ, recently delivered an electrifying performance at the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium in Onitsha, Anambra state.

The event, which is the second edition of the ‘JeriQ Hood Concert’, attracted thousands of music lovers, creating a spectacle that celebrated music, culture, and the renowned trap king of the East’s deep connection to his Igbo roots.

The Iyoo, Hood Boy Dreams, Last Last crooner, performed his hit tracks, celebrating resilience, ambition, and identity while showcasing his pride as an indigenous rapper.

Other performers at the concert included Blaqbonez, Bella Shmurda, Aguero Banks, and comedian Mr. Sabinus. Fast-rising singers like Lord Zeus, Ema Odia, Mr. Bady, and Hevene also entertained the audience.

The music show debuted in 2022 at Okpara Square in Enugu, but this year’s edition in Onitsha aimed to expand its reach and impact. The choice of Onitsha, JeriQ’s hometown, was to “add a layer of an emotional connection for the artiste and his fans.”

The Onitsha concert was a homecoming for JeriQ, who earlier in an interview said “Growing up in Onitsha exposed me to unexpected things as a kid. We washed cars; sold bottled herbs. If it rains, we go into the expressway and wait for travellers to get stuck in the mud so we can help push the vehicle for a fee.”

The next stop for the concert will be in Enugu on December 21. JeriQ’s team disclosed that the lyricist is eager to see how the concert will continue to evolve and grow.
