SJW entertainment signs Ace Berg, to change Nigeria rap scene
The Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Saint Justin World Entertainment otherwise known as SJW Entertainment, Obiajunwa Justine Chinonso has revealed that he is determined to make a difference in the entertainment scene and rewrite the rap game in the Nigerian music industry with the signing of the rave of the moment rapper/songwriter, Okoronkwo Ikechukwu, who is better known in the industry with the stage name Ace Berg.
Ace Berg recently pen a record deal with the entertainment outfit and promised to change the rap game with his distinct rap style. The rap star was born and bred in Lagos, but a native of Abia state is a graduate of Computer Science from Federal Polytechnic, Nekede.
Though not a complete rookie, Ace Berg skills and distinct rap style have earned some laurels including the MTN Rap Battle held at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) in 2014. He revealed that with his style, which is different from the regular Nigerian rap game, he’s ready to showcase to the world his talent and redefine creativity with his craft.
“I am ready to show the world my talent and redefine the rap game, I have all it takes to be the next big thing in the Nigerian music industry,” he said.
Commenting, Obiajunwa, who is more optimistic about the prospect of his new signing, opined that despite the rise of the Nigerian music industry in recent times, he does not want to rest on his oars but ready to contribute its quota to the entertainment scene in Nigeria.
He stated that SJW is the home label to Wetin We Gain crooner, Victor AD, and the newly signed Blaq Jerzzy, a songwriter, performer, and music producer known to have produced hits for Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and many others.
“We are not done yet, in fact, we are just getting started. We are poised to positively impact the Nigerian music industry, I established SJW not just because I want to make a difference in the entertainment scene but because I want to be that difference. The industry is great but I’m here to make it greater. SJW is undoubtedly the fastest growing music company in the continent of Africa and we exist to shape culture through the power of artistry innovation,” the Imo State-born label executive said.
Speaking further, Obayuwana said his entertainment outfit is committed to developing creativity and innovation. “We are a community of entrepreneurs committed to creativity and innovation. We own and operate a broad array of businesses engaged in recorded music, music publishing, merchandising, and audiovisual content in Africa.
“We identify and develop recording artists and songwriters, we produce, distribute and promote the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful music to delight and entertain fans around the world. We are the home for music’s greatest artistes, innovators, and entrepreneurs,” he stated.
According to him, “Because music has a powerful force for good in the world and unique in its ability to inspire, bring people together, we at SWJ Entertainment are determined to serve our communities. Together we dream, create and live it.”
Speaking on the arduous task of nation-building, the music chief executive also revealed that the burden of nation-building rests on all of us. “We must play our part in assisting the government in playing theirs. My wish is to build an institution/academy for young talented music artistes,” he stated.
