Woli Arole raises alarm over cabal in Gospel Music industry
Alleges Existence Of WhatsApp Group To Pull Artistes Down
Popular comedian and prophet, Bayegun Oluwatoyin, popularly known as Woli Arole, has alleged the existence of a “cabal” within the Nigerian gospel music industry, vowing to publicly call out those fingered.
According to him, the body had a significant impact on gospel musicians’ careers and made decisions that could either positively or otherwise impact their future.
The prophetic comedian who embraced social media and gained attention with short videos on Instagram, took to his page to make the allegation following claims of maltreatment of artistes by record label owners, and bullying in the music industry.
He disclosed that numerous gospel artistes have been messaging him privately with allegations, supporting the claim of a secret group within the gospel music community. “This group uses WhatsApp chats to jointly determine actions against artistes that they might not favour,” Arole claimed.
The one-time Alibaba Spontaneity finalist emphasised that gospel artistes might miss out on opportunities if they associate with those not sanctioned by this secret group. He encouraged those affected to voice their concerns saying, “Silence can limit one’s destiny. I’ve heard rumours of a cabal in gospel music. My inbox is filled with messages about it.”
