‘When you’re lucky, don’t think others are lazy’ – Bukkykoga
Serial entrepreneur and founder of BKGlam Group, Bukonla ‘Bukkykoga’ Ifedayo Esan, has played up the irony of life between successful people and those still striving to become success stories.
It is a myth generally perpetrated that those who have not found the kind side of life are lazy and not doing enough to change their situations.
But like many Nigerians who have migrated abroad in search of greener pastures, Bukkykoga discovered the indelible truth about the Biblical verse which says “time and chance happen to them all.”
The BKGlam Group chief executive officer began to build her business empire which comprises of an event-planning outfit, BKGlam Events and the fashion and styling subsidiary, BKGlam International, in 2015 – two years after she bagged a degree in Business Administration and Human Resources from Plymouth University in United Kingdom, where she resides.
Bukkykoga, who is also a British citizen, has successfully built renowned and reputable brands in the fashion and hospitality sectors. Her BKGlam Events majors in planning world-class wedding ceremonies, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
Esan’s BKGlam International, the fashion arm of BKGlam Group, was the talk of the town during the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, (AMVCA), which held in Lagos in May. Top celebrities, including multiple award-winning actress, Toyin Abraham, proudly flaunted her glamorous outfit, acknowledging it was designed by the fashion brand.
Above all, the most intriguing thing about Bukkykoga is her humility, and her judgement not being clouded as common, that while others like her are successful, it is not simply that other people are doing nothing.
“Between when you are lucky, don’t think others are lazy. The only difference is grace. May the grace of God locate us all,” she wrote on her Instagram page.
