Yemi AD in Nigeria, rewards indigenous artistes

Czech-born Nigerian artiste, Yemi Akinyemi Dele, simply known as Yemi A.D is in Nigeria for the first time after years of international debut.

Czech-born Nigerian artiste, Yemi Akinyemi Dele, simply known as Yemi A.D is in Nigeria for the first time after years of international debut.

The award winning multi-disciplinary creative, who created shows and music videos for Kanye West and Coachella will be giving scholarships (including flights and accommodation) to over 50 young talents in the country to study dance and coding (Java script) in Europe.

The choreographer, director, producer and entertainment entrepreneur was received at a special inspirational timeout tagged ‘Meet the Icons’, put together by actress Kate Henshaw and rapper, Iledare Oluwajuwonlo, popularly known as Jaywon at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba.He was also recently named as one of the 50 Wall-of-The-World Judges in the World Best Reality TV Show in the United States.

The ‘Wall of the World’ is comprised of 50 accomplished experts from every field of entertainment across the world who offer feedback during every round of the World Best competition and are responsible for helping decide which act is ultimately crowned.

With a vast career starting in Prague, Yemi has been a member of Kanye West’s creative team since 2010, having choreographed sequences for West’s ‘Runaway’ video and collaborating on performances for ‘Saturday Night Live’ and MTV’s video music awards. In addition, he was the director and choreographer for West’s 2013 ‘Yeezus’ tour.

As an innovative entrepreneur, Yemi has designed events for global brands including Google, T-Mobile and Coca-Cola and he has created digital campaigns for Mercedes-Benz and Adidas through his JAD Productions company. He is the founder and operator of talent agency JAD People, which represents top Czech performers. non-profit organization, Dance Academy Prague, which he founded in 2009, provides dance training to a diverse pool of talent in need, with various degrees of experience.

Yemi works with disadvantaged children throughout the world, including the Smiling Crocodile Foundation; he has been a featured speaker for The Aspen Institute and TEDx, and is the Ambassador of Sustainable Development Goals to the UN for the Czech Republic.
