Along the way, he received notable recognition, including the Garvey International Center Scholarship, the Global Select Scholarship, and the Lee R. Riley Distinguished Graduate Assistantship Award.

That drive for mastery led Michael to Fortinet, a global leader in cybersecurity, where he serves as an Advanced Services Engineer. In this role, he supports some of the most complex network environments in the world. His expertise spans FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and emerging solutions like FortiSASE. What truly sets him apart is his ability to translate these technical skills into meaningful solutions for customers. Whether replicating customer environments to isolate complex issues, advising on upgrades and configuration hardening, or conducting proactive workshops, he ensures that businesses stay secure and resilient.

Michael continues to work at the forefront of innovation with Fortinet, delivering value to organizations that rely on secure and stable networks. His daily work impacts enterprises across the United States and beyond, strengthening their digital defenses and shaping how they prepare for the next era of technology.

Before joining Fortinet, Michael honed his skills with Outcess Solutions and Vodacom Business in Nigeria, where he worked on the frontline of network reliability. He monitored systems, analyzed root causes, and led deployments that reduced outages and improved performance. Those years of hands-on work with routing technologies like OSPF and BGP, and network monitoring systems such as Azotel and Nagios, gave him a deep appreciation for how stability impacts not just technology but business continuity.

His contributions go beyond the day-to-day. Michael has produced academic research on the evolution of cyber resilience frameworks, SD WAN innovations, VPN security protocols, and IoT security paradigms. These publications underline his vision of a digital world where security is proactive, adaptive, and built into the very fabric of connectivity.
