A record number of golfers have signified their intention to swing clubs at the Lakowe Golf Estate’s 2018 Club Championship that tees off tomorrow and rounds off on Sunday.

A record number of golfers have signified their intention to swing clubs at the Lakowe Golf Estate’s 2018 Club Championship that tees off tomorrow and rounds off on Sunday.
 
Head Professional at the facility, Femi OLagbenro, confirmed that this number includes ladies, gentlemen, Veterans and players willing to compete as guests at the 36-hole contest.
 
“We have had tremendous interest being shown by our members for this epic event, and it goes to show the level of competitiveness among the players and the increasing quality of the facility,” he said.

 
He also mentioned that a number of corporate organization have also signed up to partner in making this year’s event a success, including; Diamond BankPlc, Chevron Nigeria, DEL Waste Management, OPAS Nigeria, OANDO Plc, JinHua Group Ltd, Hygeia HMO, La Brioche among other individual supporters for the events.
 
Gross posting over two days will determine the winner at the event. In the Men’s category, Tunji Adebayo, who won last year will be hoping to fend off challenge from Tim Ayomike, Cubus Classen, Douglas Koebe, Peter Eben-Spiff, Frank Momoh, James Heur, Richard Smith and Winston Strasser.

Georgia Oboh, the 2017 winner of the lady’s category has relinquished her amateur status to purse professional golf career. This leaves room for a new winner to emerge, and some of the players tipped to put up a fight for the tittle include Fatumata Coker, Njide Ndili, Idowu Babalakin among others.

The event will be rounded off with prize presentation gala at the end of the second round, where all the winners will be presented with their award.
