GHANA will present a strong contingent of 25 professional golfers of the 120 players for the inaugural edition of West African Golf Tour, which tees off in Abuja on February 25.

The Ghanaians will parade household names like Emos Korblah, Kojo Barnini, Vincent Torgah and JJ Harvey.

However, Nigeria, where the first two editions oft he event is to be held, will dominate the professional sheet with 72 registered golfers.

Gift Willy, Dominic Andrew, Sunday Olapade, Mohammed Liman, Lateef Lasisi and Oche Odoh are some regular Nigerian playerst hat will contend for the prize money of $50,000 (or its Naira equivalent at CBN rate) over the IBB International Golf and Country Club. 

Cameroun will also be in the mix as 17 players from the neigbouring country, to be led by Ebela Mvondo Desire, will be competing at the 72 holes tournament.

Ebela will aim to use the West African Tour as a platform to activate his rivalry with Odoh, who beat him by four strokes at the 3E Actuaries Equatorial Guinea Open Championship in Mongomo in December last year.

The Gambia, Ivory Coast, Togo, Gabon, Senegal, Kenya and Spain are also some of the countries billed to compete at the tournament.

All the details that will deliver a memorable experience for spectators at the maiden West African Golf Tour have been fine tuned at the IBB International Golf and Country, Abuja.
