The newly-appointed head coach of Abia Warriors, Kennedy Boboye, is looking forward to the challenge of taking his new club to success in the 2015/2016 season, reports supersport.com.

Boboye was hired by the Umuahia-based Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club after guiding Sunshine Stars to a sixth-placed finish in the 2014/15 season.

The former Nigeria under-23 star says he is impressed with what he met on ground at his new surroundings.

“Abia Warriors is a young team that have spent just over two seasons in the Nigerian top-flight.

“I was impressed with what I met on the ground because they have ambition of playing on the continent and winning the league title.

“I like ambitious clubs. The core players of the team are still there. Only injured players and those that arrived on loan have been allowed to leave.

“I will introduce a few players to the team and I am sure we will be successful,” he told supersport.com.
Boboye replaces former under-20 coach, Ladan Bosso, as head coach of the Warriors.
