Arum picks Wallin to beat ‘overrated’ Joshua on Saturday

Anthony Joshua (left) and Otto Wallin will meet in a heavyweight boxing showdown in Saudi Arabia on December 23.

Top Rank Promotions boss, Bob Arum, believes that Otto Wallin will score an upset win over Anthony Joshua when they meet in Saudi Arabia this weekend, reports badlefthook.com.

Arum, who said Joshua isn’t quite as good as he’s been made out to be, said: “Let me tell you, Joshua, I believe, has his work cut out for him with Otto Wallin. I think Otto Wallin is gonna beat him. I think Otto Walling is a really underrated fighter, I think he has a lot of skills, and I like him to win over Joshua.

“I think Wilder will be okay with Joseph Parker, who’s a good fighter but doesn’t have the firepower to match Wilder. But I think Wallin could upset the apple cart. I really believe that.”

On who he sees winning a Wilder vs Joshua fight should it happen, Arum said: “Wilder. I’m not a big Joshua fan, not that I have anything against him. But let’s be honest about it, his performances have been spotty and he hasn’t demonstrated the ability to take the fight to his opponent.

“That’s why Usyk was able to beat him twice although he’s a much smaller guy. I think Joshua is a good fighter but not on the level of Fury or Wilder or Usyk, as Usyk demonstrated.”
