Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), Sola Aiyepeku, gave kudos to the Lagos State Dart Association (LASDA) Chairman, Adegbenga Odofin, for a job well done.
Also speaking, Technical Director of LASDA, Joachim Idada, said, “Darts as a sport is being moved out from the recreational centre to the sporting arena. Our hope is that very soon we will be able to hold a championship at the main hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
“The objective of the competition, from the technical perspective, is that we are hoping we can groom players with a possibility that if things work out well they can be exposed to international events.
“But for them to go international, they must hone their skills locally. We want to start what we call a ranking system that will help us develop them on a monthly basis by having top four in the men and women categories,” he said.
