Defending champions, Bayern Munich are unrelenting n their bid to retain the title despite Borussia Dortmund’s stranglehold on the league table.

Matches of the Bundesliga this weekend would be broadcast live n Nigeria by StarTimes with the battle between Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Bayern Munich at the BayArena by 3:30 p.m. as t5he opening game on Channels 254 and 245.

Bayer Leverkusen, currently occupying the ninth position on the Bundesliga table with 27 points, are hoping to increase their points haul with a win against second placed Bayern, which have 42 points.

The Bavarians are embroiled in a tight tussle at the top of the table with arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund but remain confident they can catch the Bundesliga leaders in the second half of the 2018-19 campaign, despite facing a six-point deficit.

Bayern has lost one of their strikers, Sandro Wagner, to the Chinese Super League, thus ending his 13-year stay in Germany.

The 31-year-old joined Bayern from Hoffenheim in a €13m (£11m/$15m) move in December 2017 and scored eight goals as they won the Bundesliga title last season.

However, Wagner, firmly second choice behind Robert Lewandowski, started just one league game this term and failed to find the net in the competition.

The veteran striker was contracted to remain at the Allianz Arena until 2020, but he requested for his contract to be terminated after growing frustrated with his role on the sidelines.

He is set to join compatriot and former Hertha Berlin team-mate, Felix Bastians, while German coach Uli Stielike is currently in managerial charge at the Chinese club.
