BCGS moves to Warri for Club Match Play

Team Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS) is set to renew its rivalry with Warri Club in the match play, which tees off tomorrow at Ogunu, Warri, Delta State.

The match play in Warri, being the first time the present BCGS committee will go outside its base for the match, will feature at least 30 golfers from the club, led by its captain, Prince Aghatise Erediauwa

Speaking on the club’s readiness for the one-day challenge, the BCGS competition secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Ighodaro said, “this is the first time that the club will go outside its base to play club match play by this present committee, under the leadership of our amiable captain, Prince Aghatise Erediauwa.

“The club has hosted several golf clubs for match play in Benin City, and those matches were very keen and interesting. But this time around, the club’s golfers will go to Warri for a one-day golf challenge that will be led by our in indefatigable captain, Prince Aghatise Erediauwa.

“In the month of May, BCGS hosted Ikeja Golf Club in a match play right here in Benin City. We thrashed them and showed them the stuff we were made of. So going to play against Warri Club will be a keen competition, but we are  optimistic that the quality of golfers in our team will turn the tide in our favour.”
