Former Super Eagles Coach, Christian Chukwu, has declared that the Eagles qualification for the Russia 2018 World Cup lies in the ability of the team to maintain their winning streak by beating Cameroun in their next qualifier.

Chukwu, who charged the Eagles not to allow the victory over Algeria and Zambia to halt their momentum, declared that getting the World Cup ticket should be the target of the players.

The former Harambee Stars of Kenya manager posited that beating Cameroun at home and exceling in the two away matches would give the Eagles the World Cup ticket.

He charged the Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr, to maintain the competitive spirit among players, saying that is the only way he would continue getting the best out of the team.

He said, “The Super Eagles should not relax in their quest to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. I believe Rohr has been talking to the players not to relax yet because there are more crucial games to play in the qualifier.

“For me beating Cameroun in Nigeria and striving hard to excel in our two away games will give the Eagles the World Cup ticket.
“Everything lies in the hands of the players to keep winning.”

He also urged Nigerians not to castigate the Falconets for not excelling in the U-20 Women’s World Cup “because the championship is a developmental tournament to groom talents, it is not compulsory we win all the time.’’
