Canada-based youngster, Dumebi Iheanacho, is staking a claim to an invite to any of Nigeria’s junior teams.
Born July 5, 2000, the youngster who plays in the midfield or centre back for Cardinal Leger Secondary School, Brampton, Canada, has been described by his coaches as a committed, highly motivated, respectful, focused, dependable, productive and resourceful player.

Having started playing house league in 2005, where he was identified and accepted into All Stars mini league in 2006, Iheanacho captained his team to play at the highest levels for his age in Canada attracting huge commendations

Described by his various coaches as a utility player due to his effectiveness as an attacker, midfielder and defender, Iheanacho, who is not related to Manchester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho, has promised to bring his productivity and consistency if given a call-up to the Golden Eaglets or Flying Eagles, who will start their qualifying races for the CAF U-17 Championship and CAF Youth Championship this year.

“It would be a thing of pride and honour if I am invited to the Golden Eaglets or Flying Eagles because my dream has always been to play for my country and I am looking forward to getting an invite to contribute my quota to the national team project,” Iheanacho.

If invited to play for the Eaglets, Iheanacho, who set an all-time record in every aspect of the game both on and off the field during his one-year spell with North Mississauga Soccer Club, will only be adding bite to Nigeria’s dream to win the FIFA U-17 World Cup trophy for the third time in a row, having previously won it in 2013 in UAE and 2015 I Chile.
