Chukwueze condemns Real Madrid to first pre-season defeat

Super Eagles’ star, Samuel Chukwueze, continued his impressive pre-season performance in the United States, yesterday, when he led AC Milan to a 1-0 defeat of European champions, Real Madrid.

Chukwueze, who was the pivot of everything Milan did right in their 3-2 defeat of Manchester City in an earlier game on Wednesday, scored the lone goal against Madrid to show the Italian club’s new manager, Paulo Fonseca, that he is ready to hold down a starting short next season.

When Chukwuze was in Villarreal of Spain, he had a good record against Real Madrid with three goals and two assists in nine games of his six-year stint in La Liga.

Real Madrid used the game to test their new players, including Brazilian wonder-kid, Endrick, but AC Milan dominated the game culminating in Chukwueze’s goal in the 55th minute.

Mattia Liberali won the ball in midfield, ran forward, and sprayed a pass to Chukwueze who was running into space on the right. The Super Eagles star made no mistake, as he struck a low shot that beat Andriy Lunin and gave Milan a 1-0 lead.

Chukwueze nearly turned provider few minutes later after setting up Christian Pulisic and Liberali. But they failed to convert their efforts. Chukwueze had a brilliant game and was taken off in the 78th minute.
