
The Ogun State Cycling Association, in conjunction with FT Cycle Care, have concluded plans to organise a one-day cycling rally to celebrate the International Youth Day. It will take place today.
According to the organisers, the one-day Cycling rally, which will begin at 7.30am at Ogun State FRSC headquarters, Ibara, Abeokuta, will also be used to welcome the FRSC Ogun State Sector Commander, CC Anthony Uga to office, and also honor the Superintendent Route Commander, Federal road safety corp, Victor Akinpelu, who recently received a humanitarian award from FT Cycle Care for his support in promoting cycling and Youth development in the State.
Speaking ahead of the Cycling event, Chairman Ogun State Cycling Association, Femi Thomas, said the one-day ride to honour CC Antony Uga and Victor Akinpelu on the International Youth Day is necessary because of their passion and contribution towards the growth of cycling in Nigeria, and helping the youth to horn their talent to keep them away from unlawful acts.
Thomas added that the duo had ensured safety of cyclists on the roads with various campaigns and programs in Ogun State.
He declared that today’s cycling rally will begin at FRSC HQ, Ibara, and moves through Opic Roundabout, Oke Ilewo – GTB kuto – kuto under bridge – NNPC u-turn – Ibara Police Station – Panseke under bridge – Opic Roundabout and ends in FRSC headquarter.
