DTigressTHE Nigeria women national basketball team, D’Tigresses, have stepped up preparations for the qualifying series of the forthcoming Afrobasketball championship slated to hold in Tunisia in August and the All Africa Games.

According to Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) Media Officer, Akin Bolarinwa, 12 players out of the 16 players expected in camp are already battling for spots in the team, adding that the Federation would give the girls the necessary assistance to ensure they got the tickets.

Bolarinwa described the qualifier as a double header for both the Afrobasketball Championship and the All Africa Games, which will commence on May 25, adding, however, that the team’s camp has been boosted by the arrival of three foreign-based players.

He assured that the NBBF would work to ensure the women and men’s national teams made remarkable impacts in the games lined up for them.

“The girls train twice daily to enable the coaches get the right tactics to prosecute the qualifiers”.
