Effortswill, Roshallom win fourth Lagos Inter-Schools Athletics Championships
Effortswill Academy and Roshallom International School on Saturday emerged winners of the fourth edition of the Lagos Inter-Schools Athletics Championship’s college and primary school categories respectively.
The keenly contested inter-schools athletics competition among 37 schools in the primary and college categories, organised by Wonderland Sports had spectators, sports enthusiasts and icons thrilled by budding sportsmen and women from the qualifying schools from Lagos and other states at Abesan Mini Stadium, Abesan, Lagos State.
The sports competition saw boys and girls competing in events such as long jump, high-jump, 100 metres, tug of war, 400 metres, 800 metres, shot put, discuss, filling the bottle, 25 metres, 50 metres, bicycle race, football and march past among others.
Effortswill Academy emerged champions of the college category with 12 medals, consisting five gold, five silver and two bronze medals, Ferscoat International Schools came second with 14 medals made up of five gold, two silver and seven bronze medals, while Roshallom International School came third with a total of 11 medals, which consisted four gold, three silver and four bronze medals.
Chigozie Karison also brought more honour to Effortswill Academy as he was awarded the overall best male athlete in the competition, while Ayoaderele Oluwadamilade of Roshallom International School was the overall best female athlete.
