A member of Team Nigeria’s contingent to the 2025 World Athletics Relays in China, United States-based sprinter, Tiana Eyakpobeyan, says that she is preparing hard to make the country proud when the event gets underway.
This year’s World Athletics Relays will be held at the Guangdong Olympic Stadium, China on May 10 and 11. Team Nigeria is expected to depart on May 5 to enable the athletes acclimatise and also practice baton exchange for the World Athletics Relays.
Eyakpobeyan told The Guardian, yesterday: “My preparation is going on smoothly. I must commend you and your organisation for the amazing job you are doing. May God continue to bless you and The Guardian for the followership given to Nigerian athletes, home and abroad.”
Nigeria will feature in four relay events, 4x100m relay (men and women), 4x100m mixed, and 4x400m mixed.
Eyakpobeyan is listed in Nigeria’s women’s 4x100m relay squad for the championship alongside Tobi Amusan, Umukoro Success, Rosemary Chukwuma, Favour Ofili and Jennifer Chukwuka.
