FIFA’s executive committee on Tuesday welcomed preliminary reform proposals to set an age restriction of 74 years and a 12-year maximum tenure for the presidency of world football’s governing body.

At Tuesday’s meeting in Zurich, FIFA’s leaders welcomed proposals by it’s reform committee of governance reform in FIFA’s leadership, which includes both the age limit and maximum number of terms.

The proposals are set to be considered by the executive committee on December 2/3 on their next meeting in Zurich.

FIFA are set to vote on a new president at the next congress meeting on February 26 2016 to replace Sepp Blatter, 79, who has been in office since 1998.
