FIFA World Cup final’s top ticket prices reopen at $10,990

FIFA WORLD CUP

FIFA has reportedly increased its top ticket price for the men’s World Cup final to $10,990 (£8,334/€9,544) after sales were reopened on Wednesday, theticketingbusiness.com reported, yesterday.

According to the Associated Press, the price had been listed at $8,680 after the tournament draw in December. Additionally, the governing body’s category two tickets for the final came in at $7,380 compared to $5,575, while category three now costs $5,785 instead of $4,185.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to run across the US, Canada and Mexico from June 11 until July 19, with the final hosted at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

FIFA launched the last minute ticket sales phase yesterday, with the official resale/exchange marketplace set to open today. The governing body originally said that tickets would be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis during this final sales phase.

According to AP, tickets were listed for 17 of the 72 group-stage matches and none of the knockout games, while the reopening of the sales was also hit with technical issues.

Additional reports detailed how customers were confused during the latest round of sales, as they were misdirected to a “PMA late qualifier supporters sales phase”, aimed at fans of the six recently qualified nations.

It also appeared that some were stuck in virtual queues for more than 90 minutes.

“I sat in the queue for hours to be put into the PMA section and was unable to purchase tickets. You should make it right,” said one fan on X.

FIFA then said that only some tickets had been put on sale, with additional tickets to be released on a rolling basis.
