Flamingoes Rout Namibia 5-0 in Windhoek

FlamingoesNIGERIA’S Under-17 girls, Flamingoes, yesterday in Windhoek, Namibia, walloped their hosts 5-0 in the second round, second leg qualifier for the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier.

A brace from Cynthia Aku plus strikes from Rasheedat Ajibade, Patience Dike and Yetunde Fajobi were all the Flamingoes needed to brush aside the Baby Gladiator and qualifier 9-0 on aggregate at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.

The hosts came into the game with the aspiration of erasing the four goals deficit suffered in the first leg in Abuja but they were unable to curtail the fire-powers of the Nigerian girls.

Patience Dike began the rout in the sixth minute before Cynthia Aku doubled the lead in the 37th minutes as Nkiyu’s girls went into the half time break with a two-goal lead.

Aku completed her brace in the 57th minute before Rasheedat Ajibat and Yetunde Fajobi ended the dreams of Mervin Mbekara’s wards.

Nigeria will meet South Africa who walked over Zambia for a chance to qualify for the 2016 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup billed for Jordan.
