Ideye leads Enyimba to victory in CAF Confederation Cup
Former Super Eagles player, Brown Ideye, was the hero yesterday as he piloted bottom-placed Enyimba FC to a 4-1 victory against Mozambique’s Black Bulls in their Group D clash of the Confederation Cup.
It was the Match Day 4 of the second-tier continental competition, which no Nigerian club has ever won. Ideye, who joined the Peoples Elephants last week, opened the score for Enyimba with his fine dribble past the visitor’s goalkeeper after receiving a pass from Benedict Atule.
Atule scored a brace, including his goal in the 90th minute to give Enyimba fans an all-night celebration.
The win at the Godswill Akpabio stadium yesterday in Uyo may have kept alive Enyimba’s slim qualification hopes.
In the opening three group matches, Enyimba lost two and drew one at home.
