ONDO State Football Agency (ODSFA) Monday unveiled the new technical director of the agency, Paul Ashworth, alongside members of his team, who are expected to drive the state’s government initiative to a new level.

  The ODSFA is an Ondo State government programme aimed at discovering and nurturing talented players from all he nooks and crannies of the state. 

  Commending the state government for the initiative, Ondo State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Bekekhimi Idhiari, said the agency, led by Akin Akinbobola, has done a lot to realize the dreams and vision of Governor Olusegun Mimiko in the area of football development.

   Speaking at the contract signing and unveiling of Ashworth and his crew, Idhiari added, “We are not surprised with the level of success being recorded at the football agency as we have absolute confidence in the ability of the chairman of the agency, who is a miracle worker.”

  Also speaking at the event, Chairman of the football agency, Akin Akinbobola, while thanking Mimiko for supporting the programme, promised to always work hard to realize the vision of making Ondo State the “Mecca and Brazil” of football development in Nigeria.

 “We must give God the glory and must not fail to appreciate the efforts of Governor Olusegun Mimiko for providing the needed support and the enabling environment for the success to be recorded. We shall continue to work hard to take football development to the next level in the state and beyond.”  

   Also speaking at the event, Ashworth said Mimiko’s vision for football development was the reason he chose Ondo State ahead of other offers he had.

  Ashworth promised to work hard for the success of the agency and solicited support from all stakeholders. Other members of the technical staff unveiled were the Assistant Technical Director of the agency in charge of the academy, Henry Abiodun, Head Coach of Sunshine Stars, Kennedy Boboye, Head Coach of Sunshine Queens, Kayode Olujoungbe and Head Coach of Rising Stars Academy, Kayode Julius.

  The new Director of Management in charge of players transfer, Aminu Yusuf, was also introduced to the Media.
