A former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ike Shorunmu, on Thursday called for adequate support from the Nigeria Football Federation for the Olympics-bound U-23 national team.

Shorunmu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that if the necessary logistics were provided for the Samson Siasia-tutored Dream Team, the players could perform well at the Olympics.

The immediate past goalkeeper trainer of the Super Eagles, who plied his trade with Besikstas FC of Turkey, stressed that motivation was the key to success.

He noted that camping the team in a conducive environment would be crucial for the team’s preparations for the quadrennial global sports event.

“I heard from Siasia about three days ago that he will like to camp the team in Brazil before the Olympics for maximum concentration.

“If the federation can listen to him it will no doubt impact positively on the team’s performance.

“We want our players to perform well and as such all hands must be on deck to achieve the task at the Olympic Games,’’ he said.
