Gidi Giants win inaugural Temple Jam Basketball Championship
Debutants in the Nigeria Basketball scene, Gidi Giants of Lagos defeated Gombe Bulls 58 to 51 to emerge champions of the inaugural Temple Jam Basketball Championship, which ended yesterday at the indoor sports hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
The Lagos based side led all through the quarters of the encounter witnessed by thousands of basketball fans, including school children.
In the third-place play off, Anambra Flames defeated Niger Potters 83 to 88.
Among the dignitaries at the final was Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila. Owen Oriakhi of Gidi Giants was awarded the MVP of the championship.
