Ten schools from the Association of International School Educators (AISEN) will on Saturday vie for honours in the second edition of the Greensprings Swimming Gala at the Lekki Campus of the school in Lagos.

The event is sponsored by a group of parents in the students.
  
Spokesperson for the group, Lola Soremekun, said the event is aimed at unearthing and nurturing the talents of the students in swimming, adding, “We are aware of the abundant talent discovered at most of the gala organised at AISEN level, hence our decision to support swimming.

“In addition, we are welcoming all participants free on Saturday just like we did in the first edition, we look forward to a wonderful tournament with new records set.”
 
The President of the Aquatic Federation of Nigeria, Babatunde Fatai-Williams, will be the special guest of honour, while the technical officials from the Lagos State Swimming Association will be in charge of proceedings at the championship.
 
Speaking on the event, Greenspring’s Director of Education, Harry Mcfaul, said it is part of the school’s efforts to popularize swimming among the students and also engender friendship among the participants
 
The maiden edition was won by the Children International School with the host, Greensprings, finishing second.
