Pep Guardiola insisted on Friday that he was “giving 100% to Bayern Munich until the last day”, after again having his commitment questioned following a mysterious meeting with Manchester City’s sporting director in Amsterdam on Monday.

The Spaniard will leave Munich at the end of the season to join up with City, and is aiming to exit Bavaria on a high note by helping Bayern become the first team to win four consecutive Bundesliga titles.

“All who know me know that for the last three years I have concentrated fully and dedicated my work to Bayern from my first day here until the last,” the 45-year-old said.

Guardiola met City director Txiki Begiristain in the Netherlands, but Bayern chairman and legendary former player Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told German daily Bild that “it is up to him what he does with his day off”.

According to Bild, Guardiola also met the agent of Borussia Dortmund’s German international midfielder Ilkay Gundogan to discuss the possibility of a future move to Man City.

Bayern, who are five points clear of Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga table, host Werder Bremen on Saturday.
