Head Office retains Total MD’s Cup
Defending champion, Head Office, at the weekend defeated Western Territory 3-1 to retain the Total MD’s Cup football tourney, held at the Campos Stadium, Lagos.
In the final match, goals from Ayo Mibiola put the on course for its second title in the competition that usually attracts families and members of staff of the firm, who gather to cheer their teams.
Before the final game, a novelty match between the Top Management of the company and the Dealers, saw the Top Management winning by 1-0.
Head Office’ striker, Ayo Mibiola, won the Most Valuable Player award, just as Tope Abioye and Chidi Anadozie also won awards for their efforts at the tournament.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of the firm, Alexis Vovk, maintained that the tournament was part of the company’s work-life-balance initiative, put together to encourage team building amongst employees.
According to him, “Apart from the fun and the entertainment, sporting events like this offer several health benefits to the physical and mental well-being of participants. It is our belief that a healthy workforce is a prerequisite for productivity and sustainable growth.”
