It was an upset on Sunday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium as an unfancied Inneh Stars Football Club defeated the more popular Dynamite FC three goals to nothing to lift the 2016 Frot Group/Edo FA Cup.

A first minute goal by Humphrey Enoma was all the Inneh Stars needed to start the demolition of Dynamite FC in the exciting encounter, which saw an unprecedented crowd at the stadium.

The Inneh Stars added two other goals through Igiebor Dickson at the 90th minute of the game and Orhuozee Osasuyi in the 93rd minute to clinch the cup.

The highly entertaining football drew huge fans, including Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s representatives, Henry Idiagbon, who is the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and head of Edo State Economic Team, Godwin Obaseki, who is also a governorship candidate.

Others in attendance were Commissioner of Sports, Presley Ediagbonya, wife of the sponsor, Mrs. Momoh, who is also the vice president of Frot Group and a host of other government functionaries.

Dynamite FC had on their road to the final defeated the 2015 winners, BJ Foundation by 2-1 in the first semifinal, while Inneh Stars also beat Buffalo FC by the same margin in the second semifinal.
