NIGERIA coach Sunday Oliseh said he would hope youngster Kelechi Iheanacho gets to play more for English Premier League side Manchester City to enhance his international career.

Iheanacho, 19, has made 16 appearances in the league mostly as a substitute and has been more prolific in the cup games in his debut season in the EPL.

Oliseh has disclosed the starlet is very much in his plans for next month’s AFCON qualifiers against Egypt, but he would also have to consider his playing time at City.

“Kelechi is doing very well, he comes in and he scores. But maybe I have to look at the minutes he has played. But he is in my plans,” said the Eagles coach.

Last year, Oliseh handed Iheanacho his Eagles debut against Swaziland.

Today, the teenager is expected to boost his chances in the Eagles with a starting place for City against Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad.
